Saturday, August 4. Swiss National Holiday. 6:00 p.m. Bratwurst cookout in the meadow. 7:00 p.m. Folk dancing. 8:00 Square dance at the Community Hall. Bonfire at dark.

Monday, August 6. Farm Women's Meeting.

Tuesday, August 14. Monthly meeting of the Helvetia Restoration and Development Organization. 7 p.m. at the Helvetia Public Library.

Saturday, August 18. Chicken Supper. Enjoy fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, noodles, coleslaw, applesauce, bread, jelly, pickles, pie, and drinks. Supper will be served from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. or until the food is gone. $10 adults, $5 children under 12, and children under 5 are free. The Square Dance is from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m with music by the Helvetia Star Band. Community Hall. $5.

Volunteer Opportunity: Help is needed for the Chicken Supper on both Friday and Saturday--especially Saturday. If you can help for even a few hours, please give Betty Biggs a call at 304-924-5018. Food donations are also welcomed.
