Professional musicians from Bern, Switzerland will be passing through Helvetia and Pickens on the First Saturday in October, performing at the Helvetia Community Hall. Bring a covered dish for dinner at 7:00 PM and help us welcome the musical group “Simmentaler Volksmuiskanten”. The Helvetia Star Band and the Simmentaler Volksmuiskanten will come together and wow us on this special evening.

Tuesday, October 9. Monthly meeting of the Helvetia Restoration and Development Organization. 7 p.m. at the Helvetia Public Library.

• 4 p.m. Historic Walk along the path the first settlers used. Starts at the Star Band (Red) Hall.
• 5 p.m. Swiss Folk Dance workshop. Star Band Hall.
• 8 p.m. Dance and Cake Walk. Music by the Helvetia Star Band. Star Band Hall. Adults $5.00. Children $2.00.

Saturday, October 27. Halloween Party. Dinner buffet with "Bat Wings" (Thai Chicken). 6:00 p.m. at the Hutte. Adults $12.50, children under 12 $6.50. Costumes welcome.
