Paintings from local artists Joe McInroy and Michael Mailloux hang in the front two rooms. Woodwork from Wood Chip Studio is displayed throughout the shop. Young artists from the area sell jewelry and other handicrafts.
When visiting, you might hear Kate, and accomplished singer and pianist, practicing classical music, show tunes, or Swiss folk songs. Kate is also a member of the Helvetia Star Band. The Gallerie is open most weekends. Contact the Blue House Gallery at 304-924-9378. Building History. The Blue House was built in the early 1940s on the site where Burbank Scales used to be located. It has had several addtions over the years. There is an apartment on the top floor. The Burbank Scales were large enough to weigh a team of horses and a wagon. Livestock were often weighed there and kept in pens in the Meadow and behind the current location of the Beekeeper Inn. |
